Are We Finally Getting Body Temperature Measurement in The Apple Watch Series 8?
You may still be remembering last year’s Apple Watch Series 7 predictions. None of the famous Apple analysts was right.
We’ve been told that the Apple Watch Series 7 will be redesigned to a more square-edged body. They were wrong on this one.
We’ve been told that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have a body temperature measurement. They were wrong on this one as well.
Instead, we got a watch that was almost identical to the Apple Watch Series 6. The only difference was the size.

Some reporters claimed that these predictions were accurate, but Apple canceled the launch of the totally redesigned Series 7 because they weren’t satisfied with the end result.
And you know how serious Apple is when it comes to user satisfaction. They have high requirements before any of their products go into mass production. If they are just 1% not satisfied with the end result, they just cancel the whole thing.
That’s why we still don’t have a calculator for the iPad, for example.

But what about the Apple Watch Series 8?
But what about the Apple Watch Series 8 that might be released along with the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro? I mean, they now had one whole year to reverse engineer it and give us the perfect watch Apple can create.
Well, it might not be perfect, but most likely it will have the body temperature measurement.
Or so we’ve been told.
Kuo, that guy from Twitter that provides the world with Apple predictions, says that the Series 8 will now have a body temperature feature.
And he is not the only one that claims this new feature.
Mark Gurman, a reporter from Bloomberg, confirms the coming of body temperature measurement in the Series 8 as well.
There is one problem though
Creating a device that measures body temperature is not easy. Especially if that device will likely measure our skin to give us the data back. Kuo explains:
“The challenge in implementing precise body temperature measurement is that skin temperature quickly varies depending on outside environments,” explains Kuo. “A smartwatch can’t support core temperature measurement in terms of hardware, so it needs an excellent algorithm to work together.”
As you read here, the Watch needs “an excellent algorithm” to be able to measure our body temperature. And most likely, Apple used this previous year to refine the software before it implements it in the Watch Series 8.
I’m more than excited to see it coming.
